When actually taking the measurement make sure to bend your neck down looking at your feet so the skin on your neck is stretched. Hold the cloth tape at the middle of your front hairline and then pull right over the top of your head. This will provide the measurement for the top of the lace wig base. Start at the top edge of your ear; extend across the top of your head to the other top edge of the other ear. This should resemble the placement of headphones.

The circumference is the distance around your entire head. Hold the tape firmly at the center of your front hairline. You will want to circle your head similar to a hair band. Make sure the tape goes just above your ear and slopes down to the nape of your neck.
